"SAM'S NEW LOOK/HAIRSTYLE!!"

Hi everyone! As promised, I am so excited to share with you all my daughter's NEW LOOK!! A few days ago, me & my daughter had a great bonding at a salon. I had hair treatment, while my daughter wanted to try out something new, like colors!!

Check out these BEFORE & AFTER looks of SAM:

My daughter had a "layered" haircut  & went "OMBRE" in 2 shades of red!!

She so loves her new look!

A much closer look, side view :)

The colored hair from the back! Ombre style, 2 shades of red!

Her hair was done by "MARIAN" of  SIMPLY ORANGE SALON & SPA, located at Nueno Ave. Imus, Cavite. Here's some "inside the salon" pics of my daughter, as she gets her hair cut & ombre hair color:

Waiting for her big change!!

Hairstylist "Marian", giving my daughter a haircut first.

Her 2nd layer of color...waiting for it to be absorbed by the hair!
I am so satisfied at how my daughter looked like at her new  haircut & hair color! She wished for this kind of hair color too and she was also very happy at how she looks like now. Here are some more pics of my daughter's new hairstyle:

Hope you guys liked the transformation my daughter had, in terms of hairstyle! Would love to hear from you!

"A Birthday Celebration"

Hello everyone! How's everybody doing? It's still summer here in the Philippines and I know in some parts of the world it is Spring time already. It's a little less than a month from now and it will be "back to school" again here!
Anyways, last May 2, I celebrated my 37th birthday. It was
just a simple celebration with my family. My day started with going to church with my husband. Then we went to fetch our daughter from her vacation at my mom's house. We went to the mall & watched IRONMAN 3 (3D). Then we ate at my fave pizza store: SHAKEY'S PIZZA!!

Here's some of the pics while eating at Shakey's:

Check out some of the food & drinks we ordered. Yum! Yum! Yum!:

my daughter ordered this drink: Mango Super Shake

I ordered this drink: Coffee Chip Super Shake

Chix N' Chips basket.....I Love MOJOS!!!

We ordered my fave pizza, the BELLY BUSTER PIZZA! Consists of 11 delicious toppings:
beef, Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, salami, cheddar cheese,
salami bits, mushroom, red & green bell peppers, onions & black olives!!

Here are some of our pics when we watched IRONMAN 3:

Here we were having fun taking pics while inside the movie theater. We were the firsts people there and the movie hasn't started yet so we took some time taking wacky shots with our 3D Glasses on!

That's mostly what i had for my birthday. Very simple yet very important to me. Because on my special day, my daughter & husband were with me the whole day!!

Don't forget to check out my next post this coming weekend! A big change has come upon my daughter!!! I'm so excited to show it all to you guys!

'Til next time!!

"Amazing Hairstyle" - Throwback Thursday

I saw this amazing hair tutorial video! And the hairstyle here was so pretty amazing & gorgeous.

I've seen the first part of the said hairstyle (BTW, i don't know what the person who did it call this hairstyle) at PrincessHairstyles.com and there, it is called the Chain Link Braid Headband Hairstyle. You can check out Kori's hair blog of the said hairstyle here.

Anyways, here is the video of this "Russian" hair tutorial. I would love to do this one day. Hopefully, by the start of the school year (June), i would be able to try this on my daughter's hair (since she is on vacation at my mother's house).

Here's the video:

Hope you enjoy it! Post it on my Fb page Pretty Hairstyles For Girls or post a pic on my Twitter @SamsPrettyHair or in our Instagram: @SamsPrettyHair, even here if you have done it already!!

"FAUX-HAWK 2 STRAND TWISTS"

"Faux-Hawk 2 Strand Twists"

Hi every one!!

I saw a hairstyle from one hair blogger Goldilocks 'N Me, and I immediately tried it on my daughter's hair. We are so loving these days anything about "twists" hairstyles. In the original hairstyle, Goldilocks made 4 parts of side ponies. Here in my daughter's pic i only made 3 parts.

3 parts made and tied first into
side ponies
So, make your part, either 3 or 4, from ear to ear and tie each into side ponies. Make sure that the ponies are aligned from each other.

Divide the top pony first into 2 and make a "twisted braid". Click the link for the video tutorial of the twisted braid from Princess Hairstyles:  http://www.princesshairstyles.com/2008/09/twist-braid-video.html

Do the same thing on the remaining pony tails. So now you will have 3 or 4 twisted pony tails.

All you have to do this time is add your favorite hair accessories on top to add more "umph" to the hairstyle. Here i added a big flower clip on top. I think big bows, flower clips or ribbons make it more prettier. Bigger is better!! :)

Hope you guys like it!! Enjoy doing this hairstyle!

"Crossing Lace Braids or X Braids"

Hi Everyone!! How's your weekend?

I saw another hairstyle from my fave hair bloggers. This is called the "CROSSING LACE BRAIDS" or the "X-BRAIDS". It is simply 2 dutch lace braids (or any kind of braids) that crosses at the center.

Well, this is how it turned out on my daughter's hair after I've done it:

As you can see on the side view of this hairstyle, i did a dutch braid on the 2 top parts on each side, crossing them to the other side of the bottom part of the hair.

When you get to the bottom half part this is where you do the lace braid, wherein you only take hair or add hair from the top.

It kinda looked a bit different from the original, i guess because i braided her hair a bit tight or near the scalp. The trick here is to make the braids a little bit loose to make the lace braid look kind of flowing.

Thanks for reading. Until next time! Happy hair styling everyone!

Tuesday's Hair - Mohawk Anyone??

Hi everyone!! How are you all doing?

Whew!! It's super hot now here in the Philippines!!
Summer time!!

Since it's very hot here, and my daughter has long hair, she wanted to always have her hair up in a ponytail. Just to keep it away from her face & neck.

So i started looking at these 4 hair blogs i follow for some nice updo hair styles. There were lots of them! And because i was running out of time i need something quick. Finally i saw one at Mindy's blog http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com/ and it's called the "BUN-HAWK" a cute version of the Mohawk (w/c is originally worn by men) It is also called the "BANTU KNOTS". This was such a cute idea & very easy to do!

the "Bun-Hawk"
Mindy's hair blog "CuteGirlsHairstyles" is very famous now in the US. Even her FB page is famous. She & her family (dad & kids) were invited on Anderson Cooper's TV show to do hairstyling. Though, we don't have that channel here in the Philippines, I'm waiting for it on YouTube. They have been on many TV shows in the US.

Going back to the hairstyle, as i said, it was very easy to do. You just have to part your daughter's hair into 5 pony tails. You can make the parting equally or you can do it like small pony to big pony. Then each ponytail, you grab the hair and twist it. Keep twisting till it curls up then you can now make a bun. Secure them with elastic bands & bobby pins. Here is our finished product:

the "Bun-Hawk"

As you can see i started the bottom ponytail smaller and as it goes up it gets bigger. But, like i said you can do your ponytails equally/same amount of hair.

I took some more pics and here they are:

she feels like a rock star!!

the back view of this hairstyle

By the way, the top she is wearing is from SM KIDS (SM is like one of the many popular malls here in the Philippines). It's like a Lady Gaga inspired top, with all the big bows and ruffles on the sleeves:

If you want to watch the video tutorial, just click this link :

My daughter really loved this hairstyle!! The pictures tell it all!!

She likes it so much! Love the butterfly earrings too
Rock on!! yeah!
the top is like Lady Gaga's outfit
So that's it my friends! Our Tuesday hair....good to wear on these hot summer days! When we go swimming, she will definitely have these hairstyle.

So long for now! God bless you all! And thank you Mindy!!

"Happy Easter 2013 - Our Easter Hairstyles"

HAPPY EASTER to all of our readers, followers & to our fave hair bloggers!!

How was your "Easter Egg Hunting" adventures?? Well, me & my daughter already had our egg hunting weeks before. You can read about our "Pre-Easter Egg Hunting" fun by clicking this link: "IT'S OFFICIALLY SUMMER TIME!"

Anyway, here is our "Easter Hairstyle" for this year 2013. We call it the "4-STRAND ACCENT BRAIDS"

I have seen these hairstyle in almost all of my favorite hair bloggers. There are also different versions of this one and it is pretty easy to do once you mastered doing the 4-strand simple braids.

This is just what my daughter wore for the day at home. Here are some more pics of this hairstyle:

A view from the back

A closer look at the braids

Side view of the hairstyle
It's a simple 4 strand braiding technique. The 4th strand you just have to make into a simple braid first to have that "accent" effect when you do this braid.

You can also use a ribbon instead as your 4th strand "4-STRAND RIBBON BRAID". That was what we used for Easter last year. Here's the pic of the 4-strand ribbon hairstyle:

So which one did you like best?? Whatever hairstyle you pick to wear on this day, I hope you all had a great and fun Easter.   And don't forget the main reason we are celebrating it is because our Lord has risen again!

Until next time!!

Lots of Love,
